Where to stay in Paris?

I'm going to Paris in February and was wondering where would be the best region to stay. (we are 3 girls, all 18) were looking for an area with a good nightlife, but not to far from some of the cultural aspects of Paris eg the museums, eiffel tower etc. thanks for any help :)
