We want to Move across the country, whats the best way?

  • whats the best way with all of our stuff, if we're planing on making it permanent, to get all of our personal items (witch some are large) Traveling from St. Catharine's to Vancouver. Main Iteams: 65gal long tank. 42"TV BoaConstrictor (4feet) Tank Stand (4.5feet) we want the least cost :\ if flying is the cheapest, then DAM!!!

    The easiest way, and often in the long run the cheapest is to have a moving company move your things, but do the packing yourself. Look for a small family owned moving company and you may get a better rate than with one of the large national companies. I doubt if they would move the snake for you though - I guess that will have to be by air. Will an airline transport the snake?? I don't know of any other way to move the snake. U-Haul allows you to rent in one city and drop off in another so that might be a good idea to check out, I was a chef and moved 5 times across Canada, on my own though, the large moving companys do a good job, but your looking at a couple thousand $$ for that. And if you do choose the self service route, just remember, it gets cold in the Prairies in September at night, so if you do go, make arrangements before the snow or cold weather sets in, and if you do go have a commited job(s) or possible employment, I worked in B.C and it is a wonderful and beautiful province, but expensive and a bit unforgiving at times so being aware before you set out and get to involved. And look and all of the province, Nelson and the northern areas are nice, Victoria and Nanaimo on the island have possibilities also.
