What's so nice about Taipei?

Whats the best hotel in Taipei for a honeymoon?

  • Helping a friend with their honeymoon plans, and they are looking to stay in a Taipei for a week (7nights) before going to Fiji for a week. So they want to stay in a good high class luxury hotel but necessarily pay high for some ridiculous price for the hotel room. Their budget is NT$6000/night and under *about $200, but are really looking for something in the 3000~4000NT range. My suggestions were Taipei Grand Hotel, and W Taipei (since its brand new), Ambience Hotel. But these are the only high end hotels I know in Taipei, does anyone else have anything good for a couple on their honeymoon, that will stay in Taipei for the majority of their duration in Taiwan.

  • Answer:

In all honesty one of the love hotels in BeiTou are possibly better for this sort of thing. They are usually about 4000 NT a night and are beautifully decorated and have giant spa-style hot spring fed hot tubs in the room, he might want to avoid the mood killing weird jap porn available inside, however... Or use it if pooping schoolgirls using their feet in strange ways is what gets them going... different strokes for different folks! He can probably try his luck at the Aquabella Hotel; http://aquabella.hotel.com.tw/eng/rooms.asp I remember the tubs were quite huge, but perhaps my memory failed me. Another good place to try there; Beautique Hotel; http://beautique.hotel.com.tw/eng/rooms.asp the elite room looks quite nice; I didn't look at the price for a night...

Hi Chubu. I've only stayed in a few hotels in Taipei, but the Rido Hotel seems to meet the requirements extremely well: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g293913-d582177-Reviews-Rido_Hotel-Taipei.html Upon my arrival in Taiwan (caveat: five years ago), it was the first place I spent the night with my wife. It's very nice! Staff service is excellent, food is served in the room. The rooms have various decors to choose from; we stayed in the Bali Room (now called Passionate South Pacific). The location is directly across from the large and beautiful Da-An park. Honestly, it was quite warm and romantic (as opposed to "luxurious and full of snobs"), and perfect in every way that a couple of honeymooners seeking their own little piece of Taiwan could wish for on a limited budget. Rooms are around US$75 per night, I think. Here some reviews and photos: http://www.agoda.com/asia/taiwan/taipei/rido_hotel/reviews.html http://www.agoda.com/asia/taiwan/taipei/rido_hotel.html#info I encourage your friends to read all the reviews. e.g., Big comfy bed, jacuzzi in the room, a warm 4-5 star decor, Da-an park view, restaurants and shopping nearby (Taipei 101), friendly staff, free internet, quiet area, good value, etc. It can be booked online or via a phone call; they have an English language website and English speaking staff. http://www.rido.com.tw/about_en.php Car service to/from the airport is also available for about US$40.
