Why does my cell phone lose service?

Will i lose my cell phone service in Japan?

  • So im going to japan in a few days and i want to know will i still have phone service?

  • Answer:

    Japan uses different cellular frequency band than U.S. and rest of Asia. i believe you need to have a capable device as well as roaming agreement bet. your service provider and local Japanese provider to have a working cellphone.

ring your service provider and ask to have global roaming turned on, and ask if they have agreements with the Japanese providers. Also, turn your data off if you don't want really high international data fees.

You have to make special arrangements with your service provider to keep it.

Depends on what you have. Do what everyone else said..call them up and see what it is. Generally it's really expensive though .-.;;

Are you keeping it or cancelling it? Because that will determine if you still have service...
