Does anyone know the name of this bridge?

Does anyone know the name of the walking bridge in Iwakuni, Japan?

  • It has been a long time since I was there and I was wondering what it was called. It is the walking bridge that goes over the river and has parks along the river on both sides with cherry trees and stone walls.

It is kintaikyo, and the literal translation is brocade sash bridge. However, I remember when I was there (I lived in nearby Hiroshima for a year) that it was referred to as the "Silver Belt Bridge". The sound "kin" (pronounced somewhat like the word keen) also means silver and the character used in the name is similar to the character for silver. The character for sash also means belt.
