  Yes, I know the Xiao Long Bao... a little too well. Basically, to find Xiao Long Bao, you need to go to Shanghai Cuisine restaurants, because it is a local specialty. Some mixed-Chinese cuisine restaurant have it too. The most famous place for Xiao Long Bao in Shanghai is Nanxiang Mantou (mantou is also a kind of bun). It's located at Yu Yuan (Yu Gardens), at 85 Yuyuan Lu (near the Jiuqu Bridge). It's crowded and touristy over there, but they have a variety of xiao long bao... they have normal small ones, but they even offer huge xiao long baos that you can suck out some of what's inside with a straw!!
