How to learn parkour?

How can I learn parkour?

• I am trying to learn parkour / free running but i don't know where to start really. I can already lazy vault and speed vault and im trying to learn how to kong vault other than that i have no idea where to begin to learn it. any tips from traceurs?

  Two part answer: Learning Parkour: I highly recommend seeking out others in the community to help you learn whether those be other community members or teachers. Do a Yahoo search for a local Parkour group. Search something like "[Your city/state] Parkour". At the least you'll probably find a local Parkour community, or a group of guys you can meet up with who will be happy to show you what they know. At the best, there will be Parkour classes run through that community where you can learn from experienced instructors. Tips: David Belle, the founder of Parkour, says: "Parkour is firstly about the useful side, to teach people how to trust themselves, to learn to be careful. Because some people may say “Woah they are crazy,” but we are way more thoughtful than someone who might fall down the stairs because they didn’t pay attention." Don't be in a hurry to advance. Instead do like David says and learn to trust yourself. Watch videos and study technique. Slowly, slowly progress and learn, and wait until you are 100% confident that you can do something before you do. Learn what your body can and can't do and as you get stronger you more sure of yourself you can move on to bigger things. Best of luck with your training!
