How do you do a backhand spring?

How do you do a backhand spring????

  • I need simple directions

  • Answer:

You're in luck! I've been told I give the simplest instructions on the backhandspring. :D Here's the steps: 1. Stand straight up. Keep your arms locked, and keep them parallel to the floor. 2. Bend to a squat position, with your arms perpendicular to the floor. 3. Do two things simultaneously: Jump back and throw your arms backwards. Keep a nice tight body! 4. Land your hands on the floor. KEEP YOUR ARMS LOCKED! If you don't, you will land on your head. It's not pretty. 5. Throw your legs over (past the handstand position) and push through your shoulders to get your hands off the ground. 6. Land on your feet, hands off the floor. That's the backhandspring! DON'T ATTEMPT A BACKHANDSPRING WITHOUT A SPOTTER. I had a girl do that once, and she landed on her head. It's not good at all. And make sure your spotter knows what she/he is doing, okay? It's even worse when your spotter has NO idea what they're doing. Also, make sure you have your bridge kickover and your back walkover mastered before you attempt a backhandspring. Without those two, your body won't have the strength to even try a backhandspring.
