Swimming Olympic Ages. When did they start?

  • Are there any olympic swimmers who started at the age of 11? Don't say Michael Phelps because he didnt. He started at 5, is what all the articles say and he got his long term coach, Bob, at age 11. Lol guys I love your answers but let me be more specific. I wanted to know if there were an olympians who started SWIMMING at age 11. Not started there olympic career at age 11!

    I don't know anyone specifically that started at 11, but I do know someone who started when she was 17. Crap I forget her name, but she went to the Olympic Trials. In case you're wondering, starting at age 11 is NOT too late!!!!!!!!!! HTH

11 is not old at all! i started at 15 and one year later i have made a lot of progress but im not saying im going to be an olympian..that would be a stretch. at 11 you still have 8-9 years of training that you can do

Damn Fraser started when she was eleven. A coach sa her swim and knew right away she would be an olympian. She is not of this century but she is quite famous. Google her if you don't know who she is!!!!

im gonna b an olympian... i started at 11!LOL! its not to late if ur willing to work! Im all caught up to my friends who have swam for 6-7 years in only 2!
