How do you dive sarely from really high up?

How dangerous is it to dive with Great White Sharks, really?

  • Well of course it is dangerous, but really what are the probabilities of being attacked? We've seen with studies over recent years that conclude sharks are not killing man eating machines, so diving with sharks, without feeding them or anything, would it trully be life threatening?

  • Answer:

Hard to say exactly. The problem with diving with a Great White without feeding them is to find them...the usual procedure for Great White cage dives is to chum the water in order to attract the shark to the boat. It is a big ocean out there, finding a shark just by chance is not an easy task. Great Whites are quite aggressive and fearless, and so will approach anything that picques its interest. The way the shark usually determines if something is worth eating is to do a "test bite" on it, and for a diver this could have fatal consequences even if the shark decides that it doesn't like the taste of what it bit. So I guess I would say that diving with a Great White without a cage is almost always risky. An attack is not guaranteed, but the shark is an extremely large, aggressive predator that should be respected as such.
