Are there any core exercises i can do for golf?
-
So i was wondering what kind of exercises i can do to improve my swing. Like maybe by tuesday? I know it seems too soon to improve. But i need exercises that will help me swing a bit farther. Playing the golf course with my class who are of a majority made of high schoolers. (i'm an 8th grader) Driver- about 180 yds Hybrid- 150-160 7-iron- 120-130 yds I know i could use A LOT of improvement. I mainly want to know how to get more flexible and strength to hit the ball farther. Any suggestions would be thanked for. Thanks much >_<

By Tuesday. Whenever I need a extra boost, I zero in on warming up with: http://www.tgw.com/customer/category/product.jsp?SUBCATEGORY_ID=15825 the added weight gives me just the boost I need. It's amazing how much lighter your club feels...lighter feel, increased swing speed = increase distance. Bottom line control, don't try and squeak out 25yds and go astray....get em' with your short game! Practice from 50yds in and spend hours on the putting green. Improvement...you're playing against a field that is years ahead of you, obviously you're good enough to be a part; don't mentally condemn yourself, it's not about power, it's about technique, confidence and the mental game of how to outsmart the course. Let your opponents make their own mistakes, stay focused. Avoid caffeine and sugar, keep on an even keel. Eat a healthy breakfast, pack a healthy snack. Get at least 6-7 hrs sleep prior to your game (yeah, no late night texting) and believe in you; you're there for a reason...perhaps because you earned it.

You are already in the running, work more on your flexibility, get the distance and power out of your head. Accuracy with your short irons and putter. Work on your routine and most of all focus.zone in. That's the difference between good players and great players. Your distance will come without forcing it you are hitting fine don't lose the swing you have. Later you can go to coaches and pros at the county courses take mr programs and lessons cheaply

If you have access to a exercise ball....sit on it with toes touching base of a wall (or something really sturdy)....feet a little less than shoulder width apart...lean back and do sit ups. Basic sit ups and sit ups where you come up from the balanced laying back position and take right shoulder to left knee and the back and then up with left shoulder heading toward right knee. Have your hands/arms across chest in an 'x'. During this exercise, keep hips to top of head in a straight line...meaning no breaking the plane with your head and neck. You can accomplish this by keeping eyes focused on ceiling as you come up and straight ahead as you complete the sit up. When you have more time...yoga and pilates really help core and gaining more distance with your shots.
