Can you change from a standard headset to a integrated headset?

Can an integrated headset be put onto a standard bike?

  • I have the Dk Siklon 2010 bmx bike and i was wondering if i could put an integrated headset on it. Does the frame need to be integrated already?

  • Answer:

No, and not because it uses less parts. Integrated headsets need a larger diameter head tube for the bearings to sit in. There are no adapters to do this either.

No, you can not put an integrated headset into a frame with a standard headtube. However, this headset allows you to run an integrated-only fork on a standard headset: http://www.danscomp.com/products-PARTS-HEADSETSSTANDARD/301014/Mechanik_STI_Sealed_Headset.html

if it's a standard headset on it you can't put an integrated headset on it because it uses less parts.. You would have to get a new frame

You use the type of headset designed to fit your frame. Would you use wheels for a Ferrari on a Honda Civic?
