What items can I buy to donate to the SPCA?

Ask them what they need. I worked as a volunteer at a Humane Society in IL and this is what they usually needed: Cat food (but you need to know what kind they use) Dog food (ditto) Rawhide chews Cat toys Purell (or same type) hand wash Paper towels Washing machine detergent Sometimes they need crates and carriers. But you must know what they need so you don't waste your money. I think you are probably old enough to help out at the shelter. The one I worked at always needed dog walkers and people to work in the cat rooms to keep the cats socialized (pet, groom and play with them). People to clean the crates and distribute food and water. Help with washing the blankets. There are many other ways you can help. I urge you to contact them directly to see what their needs are. Donating to the SPCA is not as hard as you would think, I would stay away from any food items personally just for safety sake. They would better be able to tell you what they could use besides money. As far as you volunteering, it depends on your laws in the area. If you can work at 16, you can volunteer at 16. I'm sure they would love the help
