Neutron cross section. How to calculate N?

I know the cross section formula is Rate = sigma * I * N where sigma is the cross section, I is the current N is the number of target nuclei per unit area I have a target of Li-7 that is 100microns thick and a beam of diameter 1cm hits it. How do I calculate N from this information?
