Can i apply for OCI or PIO?

Is my children and spouse are eligible to apply for a PIO or OCI card?

I was born in India, now i am living in UK and have a Indian passport and UK resident. My spouse was born in sri lanka and have a British passport. We were married in India and got a marriage certificate. We have 2 children and the were born in UK and have a British passport. We are planning to apply for a person of Indian origin (PIO) card for my children. On yesterday, I spoke to the Indian High commission office and asked the information about my children PIO card. They said, the children can't get PIO because my spouse have a srilankan nationality. I said, my parents are indians and they are living in India so how about to give a grand parents details. Again, they said no the children are not eligible for PIO card. Does anyone know, Is my children and spouse are eligible to get a overseas citizenship of India (OCI) or PIO card? Please help me !!!!

Unfortunately, those who are of Sri Lankan descent are not eligible for PIO or OCI.
