What companies are in the American Oil Pension?

Do American Oil Companies have any responsibility whatsoever to protect American citizens?

  • “Bobi Miller needs only to open the door of her home in Corpus Christi, Texas, to see the effects of toxic waste from the Koch West oil refinery. Miller's back yard and car is covered in a thick black sludge, and across the street is the school where she used to teach before a lawsuit revealed that the Koch refinery had released ninety tons of benzene, a highly toxic chemical. Miller and other teachers were often forced to implement a safety procedure called "shelter in place," keeping students inside with the air conditioner off on days when Koch was pumping waste into the air. Today the school's playground is completely deserted: The company bought the property, and children no longer play in the yard. Before the school closed, Miller would often come home to find her husband, Jim, prone on the couch with a headache. In 2001, Jim was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and had a tumor removed.

Not that easy. T-bone: You think that the system is so healthy and functional that if you are wronged by a corporation all it takes to defend your self is get a lawyer? Like that is going to stop the cancer, like the courts are going to rule the kind of payments that would deter other corporations from doing similar things. Truth is, as long as people don't get out and show the government and corporations that there are consequences to wronging us, hurting us, murdering us, dropping bombs on us and all of those nasty things they like to do, they will just keep on doing them. A-maze: Greed? what is that like the useless response that human nature is the reason the world is ruled by effete assholes? The problem with the world is ignorance, not greed. Greed is over with a bang. The Weathermen and the Panthers could have defeated greed. Hizbullah could defeat greed. No, the problem is that the people who are being sodomized by the albino plague you call a government, that sore pestering with pus you call the White House, the people at the bloody end of the stick are not taught history or rhetoric and have been taught to teach the slightly more literate and trust the buffoons on the screen. The problem is that people have not been taught that a democracy does not work every for years, it's a working machine, and unless you fuel it with dissent, repression corrupts it like rust. If people knew that the men in the suits are deathly afraid of all of us, with good reason, and that when our patience runs out it will become unprofitable to suck us dry. The problem is the population is powerful and it does not even know it. Blue, always a pleasure.

No one has any concern or regard to the lives of the citizens all the government cares about is a bunch of people that own a zillion gallons of oil and that's the only reason . America has lost its common sense they don't care about anything but money. get a lawyer or die.

American Oil Companies have no responsibility except to their stockholders

Does somebody who chooses to live by the ocean in an area that is below sea level deserve government relief when floods destroy their home? I think not. She and her husband knew they were living close to a refinery and didn't move. It sounds like the refinery tried to do what it could to protect the community. Companies are not liable for a persons greed, laziness, dim wittedness or outright stupidity - whatever the case may be.

What is an American Oil company? They are publicly traded companies, owned by people around the world. Do you have a basic understanding of causal effect of cancer? Obviously not nor do the people who wrote this cut and paste. Perhaps if we would quit spending over $250,000 in research per year per person diagnosed with AIDS, a preventable disease, and spent more than the $1,500 in research per person diagnosed with cancer there might be a cure. Stupidly, politically correct, research expenditures allow this disease to be the #2 killer in the world. I cannot believe that a preventable disease like AIDS, which is so far down the list of killers that I quit counting, gets more money than this and coronary disease, the number one killer of humans.
