What day do the fireworks stands in houston open?

There may be a total fire ban on all fireworks this 4 of July because of the severe drought we've been experiencing. However, it has just rained today (06/22) and it is foretasted to rain tomorrow and Friday so if things go as according to plan then the ban may just be lifted in time for the 4th. If you were to light a match a few days ago and held it in your hand the air itself would have caught on fire because of this catastrophic drought. Hope I was helpful. Ohh and as for when the stands may open, weather permitting, then it's usually 2-3 days before the 4th of July.

This is for anyone thinking about fireworks in Houston. EVERYTHING is tinder dry. One spark and you'll have a fire. Don't let green grass fool you... you water the grass, or most people do... makes it look OK. You don't water the wood on your house. The old adage what goes up must come down actually is true. If you want to enjoy fireworks then go down to the Freedom show downtown and see some good music and a great fireworks show. At the least use your noggin and skip this year.
