Do spiders get hungry?

Will leaving a window open in my basement cause more spiders to get inside?

• My husband is bit paranoid about spiders. He bombs the basement about once to twice a month. We still get our share of spiders, after all it is the basement, and we do live near a big field. I enjoy fresh air, and like to open the windows down there, as it can get stuffy especially with all the poison bug bombs (Im sure you can imagine). He says that is how the spiders get in b/c I keep leaving the windows open, I think they will get in anyway.

  not really because if you had spiders once there are probably a ton of eggs down there.
