How deep do you plant pine tree seeds?

Whats the best way for me to plant pine tree seeds from my tree?

• i have a pine tree, approx 18 years old. the tree produces many pine cones. how do i start new pine trees from the pine cones?? is there some special procedure?? please advise. thank you. big joe

  When cones are ripe seed is produced that can be planted in standard compost in med; size pots in shade. Keep cones indoors until they become dry, they will open, tap cones and pine nuts/seeds will drop out. They are not difficult, I have cultivated plants from gift shop painted Christmas cones, plant 1cm deep, and be patient.
