Whats the best way for me to plant pine tree seeds from my tree?

i have a pine tree, approx 18 years old. the tree produces many pine cones. how do i start new pine trees from the pine cones?? is there some special procedure?? please advise. thank you. big joe

Answer:
When cones are ripe seed is produced that can be planted in standard compost in med; size pots in shade. Keep cones indoors until they become dry, they will open, tap cones and pine nuts/seeds will drop out. They are not difficult, I have cultivated plants from gift shop painted Christmas cones, plant 1cm deep, and be patient.
