How do you make a bird trap?

• I am in Tunisia and i want to trap a bird.(i won't hurt it and i will let it go) I have tried to make ones before but I have failed.When i was maby 7 i put out a box with a stick holding it up with a string going to a crumb of a cracker with crackers leading up to it. When i was 10 i made a electric bird trap out of egg cartons and and wire and the mind storm Nex 2.0 Lego set. yesterday i left a basin full of sand and water making a very watery mud(40% sand and 60% water making it so there was an inch or so of water covering the top.Then this morning i found bird tracks on the sand( the water was clear) and i figured the birds thought it was a bird bath so i took a net with small holes ,made some a bit bigger and put it under the surface of the water and tied a string to it to a part of my house. if it works,then a bird will come and take a bird bath in it then they will try to fly away.It feet will be trapped it the net and it fails. The string is there so if it pulls the net out of the water it will stop it from flying away with it.but some how i doubt this will work so i think its time i got some pro advice. if you can think of any way to improve this trap or make a way better one, please let me know.

  Usually with a home made bird trap you pull a net over the bird with a long string . Look at the pictures on this link for some ideas.
