Is it true that bio-engineered foods don't reproduce?

If limes dont have any seeds, how do they grow & how do they reproduce w/out any seeds?

  • Answer:

Limes do have seeds. Genetic engineering and special breeding can produce seedless limes (like a seedless grape). In these cases, no, the lime is sterile and could not produce another lime tree.

The tiny black seeds in the fruit you normally find in the store probably will not sprout, almost all of the grocery bananas are cloned plants, that's why they all look so similar. You can actually purchase banana seeds for different, noncommercial varieties; these seed are larger and I have planted and grown a small banana plant from one.
