How to clean the tile and grout?

Besides removing tile grout, how do i get beige & white tile grout to match that have been in for months?

  • We placed tile on the bathroom floor and this was our first time. We were grouting the tile and we only had a 3 foot square area to go and ran out of the white grout to go with the grey and white marble looking tiles. So I went to the store and got more grout, not until we mixed and placed the grout did we notice that it did not match, it was a shade darker. We thought it might dry lighter so we left it and we did not want to remove it. We thought going over the rest with a thin layer of the darker would fix it, but it looks worse and did not really adhere to the other grout. What can we do to fix without removing the grout? Is there a paint or bleach we can go over it with that will last?

    they make a dye just for grout and can easily bought at a hardware store.it'll be the best and then seal upon completion

good luck with this. The only thing I know is to get a grout knife and start scraping. You might not need to go all the way down, but you will probably need to remove what you added plus a bit more to ensure it adheres properly. Since the grout underneath is white, you shouldn't have to worry about the colors bleeding. I have known that to be a problem on poor quality grout. The color shouldn't separate on a good grout, and if you try to bleach it out I think it will just be an ugly (unevenly colored) mess. Best to cut down a little ways and refill it with a good quality grout of the appropriate color. I wish I could see other responses before writing a response, as this will likely be redundant. I am barely a journey level in tiling, so there may be a better answer.

There's a product called grout tape that you might be able to cover your grout lines with. It's usually used to create fake grout lines (cheesy!) but it might work for you.
