Is it normal for Magnesium Supplements to cause nausea?

When taking iron supplements.... ? Please help ? is the dr wrong..?

  • I have very low iron and was told to take 325mg twice a day . I started out taking 3-6 tablets of 65mg of iron a day . I really need about 10. After I take 2-4 etc.. I feel a dull feeling in my stomach and have nausea, sometimes my head will hurt and will have a tightness in my chest where my heart feels like it almost jumps now and then . I saw online many places that i'm not supposed to take iron supplements with food because my body won't absorb the iron as much and that chest pain is a severe side effect . Yet the doctor said that Iron supplements don't cause this and it must be anxiety, therefor i must take anxiety medication . The dr also said that I should be taking this with food ... but this is coming from the guy who said my wrists can't be dislocated "only the tendons and ligaments may get stuck in your joints but they can't pop out of place" . yea ok, not buying it and thanks for calling me a liar that it's happened to me before -.- I have to go see the same doctor wednesday though, what do i do, what is right with this information? thank you so much in advanced :)

  • Answer:

take the information you have gathered to your next doctors appointment, if he still wont listen, seek a second opinion

Why can't you change doctors? If you don't trust one would you trust another? Maybe you need a really good physical exam. What other meds are you taking? Be honest with your doctor. God bless and good luck.
