How large are the typical gallstones?

I was hospitalised for 3 days due to an infected gallbladder and gallstones, how long should I rest for?

  • I was hospitalised after my GP sent me for blood tests due to vomiting, pain in my upper abdomen and shoulder for 4 days. I was given an ultrasound, chest x-ray and further blood tests and was told I had gallbladder infection and gallstones. I was given fluids and antibiotics intravenously for 2 days and was then able to take fluids, antibiotics and painkiller tablets normally. I have been off work since, nearly two weeks, but have a long commute which means I will be travelling and working for average of 12 hours a day. I still get a little pain and discomfort but am managing this with painkillers but thankfully no more vomiting just occasional queasiness. Is it too soon to go back to work? I don't want toaggravatee the problem but am aware I should also be trying to do more to get back to normal.
