How can I treat sleep paralysis?

Please help...Sleep paralysis, insomnia, excessive daytime fatigue???

  • All my life I have had major problems with sleep paralysis and it just keeps getting worse and worse and no dr. has been able to give me an answer or even taken my seriously. For a while they thought is was a med. I was on so I quit taking it and it got worse, they prescribed me Ambien because I can not fall asleep at night and get a restful sleep which made it worse so I quit taking it. Even on the rare occasion that I do get a decent nights sleep I am really tired all day and just feel the need to close my eyes and go to sleep but if I nap I have an episode of SP. Now they're getting worse to the point that I can't breath when I have one. I usually have at least one a day/night and i've had episodes that have prevented me from getting my baby out of bed when she's woke and crying. I just can't take it, do you have experience with this or have any idea what it is and/or how to treat it???

  • Answer:

You need to get a Dr that you can communicate with. One that will prescribe a sleep study. A sleep study will be the best tool to get a diagnosis.
