Red spots on my throat right behind the tonsils, the throat itself is white. what is it?

white patches? check for STD. a diagnosis here will not be accurate so see an ENT specialist who will direct what to do, or among other things run a full blood test at least to be sure.

I was thinking it could be strep throat, but then the doctor would of said something i hope, go back to the doctor and find out what it is.

The best way to reduce the discomfort of sore throat is to take pain meds like Tylenol or Advil (acetominofen or Ibuprofen). Warm beverages and soups are also soothing to the throat. Gargling with warm salt water is effective at soothing and also for helping to reduce the viral infection.
