What is up with my throat?

Red spots on my throat right behind the tonsils, the throat itself is white. what is it?

  • hi there, 2 weeks ago I had a sore throat with a slight fever (100.5) and a runny nose. i went to a doctor and was prescribed an antibiotic. she said i do not have a sore throat but she doesn't want that rash to go all the way to my lungs. 3 days later my throat was no longer sore, no runny nose, no fever, i was feeling normal. a week later i looked at my throat and it still had red spots on it and the throat itself was white, the same way it was before. i was surprised it didn't hurt. also right next to my tonsil theres something that looks like a blood vessel and it looks like it about to pop, its all dark red and its about 1/2 long and 1/32 wide. and now i still have the same thing and im starting to worry, i have to wait till wednesday to get to see a doctor. what is it? if its a strep throat why doesnt it hurt? could this be and std? im a heterosexual male and if it is how would it get all the way back there? no retarded answers please. thanks in advance

white patches? check for STD. a diagnosis here will not be accurate so see an ENT specialist who will direct what to do, or among other things run a full blood test at least to be sure.

well if you love to pleasure a woman down there, and she is not a regular partner or trustworthy one you could have gotten herpes there. and yes this does happen.

Tonsilitis, or strep throat...both need Dr.'s attention....The infection can spread into your ears and thats really painful....Strep throat is contageous........See a Doc for advise and antibiotics....... You can get STD's from going down on a girl too.....

The best way to reduce the discomfort of sore throat is to take pain meds like Tylenol or Advil (acetominofen or Ibuprofen). Warm beverages and soups are also soothing to the throat. Gargling with warm salt water is effective at soothing and also for helping to reduce the viral infection. Good oral hygiene when you are sick is also good -- brushing your teeth and using antiseptic mouthwash (like Listerine brand) are helpful to reduce the level of viruses in your mouth. There are also tons of products such as throat lozenges and throat sprays that are soothing. For lozenges, I have found that the most effective active ingredient is: hexylresorcinol But there are not very many products that have it. Instead you will probably be able to find products containing other active ingredients. The brand Cepacol is generally the most effective lozenges available (in the USA). Here is their website: http://www.cepacol.com/pharmacist.asp...
