Does ulcers on the tonsils necessarily be throat ulcers?

I've been experiencing the above symptoms for a couple of days now. I do occasionally suffer from tonsillitis so this is a possibility. It hurts to swallow but particularly when my throat is dry, when i'm eating it doesn't hurt as much so this is unusual...
