Answer:
Yes. The doctor is looking specifically to see if your boyfriend has or had hepatitis and is also looking at his liver function as well. It is possible to have problems with the liver without it being Hepatitis so he as ordered tests for that too.

He probably has hep of some sort and they are simply monitoring it with lab work and he is afraid to say any thing. Be careful tho it is highly contageous. :(

Probably so, since HCV can mimick other diseases, now doctors go straight to the liver to rule out any hepatitis classes. A is different than B, A and B are different from C. They are all genetically different, yet need the liver to reproduce. Chances are since HCV is the leading cause of liver disease today, that is what he is looking for. Hope this helped, and you've nothing much to worry about where HCV is concerned as it is not easily transmitted in a monogomous relationship. Whatever the outcome, help by being supportive. I had an on and off again relationship with a guy for over 14 years and the entire time I had HCV- he never had it and never aquired it. If you have any concerns however, get tested yourself. Many have HCV and have had it for decades and don't know it. HCV is now more widespread than AIDS.

Yes, you answered your own question. Hep c , hep b antibodies tests will tell if he has been exposed. He will need other tests if those come back positive.

I never heard of hep 2, maybe you mean hep A. It doesn't make since. The doctor could probably be more specific be cause of the window period of each type. Many reason why doctor are concerned about jandice. If he is going into surgery there probly concernes about bleeding time. That where the bleeding factors are made. You really dont need test just look into there eye if there yellow he got it.
