Does exercising really help lower your resting heart rate and/or anxiety?
-
My RESTING heart-rate is 105bpm and has been like that for years, and im on a beta blocker too. (If I wasn't my heart would be 100% worse) Everyone says exercising is the KEY to help lower heart rates and anxiety/stress. But how would I start? I dont want my heart pounding out of my chest from exercising because than ill go in an anxiety attack. Even if its good for me I hate that feeling. But if exercise really helps ill do it. I got every test done and im healthy in every way but have a high heart rate, and its really starting to piss me off.

if you are saying that your heart is normal and you did tests to prove that then ...ok you can do exercises but this will take time to lower your resting heart rate the whole idea is that the athlete's heart because of exercise adapt to the increasing requirement of oxygen due to exercise so their heart will enlarge to meet this oxygen demand so what happens is that during rest their heart will need to contract less than other people because it is already stronger because of the adaptation mechanism .and that is why the heart rate will decrease in resting ...athletes usually have a heart rate around 50 bpm . regarding anxiety ...doing exercise will help the brain to release endorphins which a substance cause the person euphoria and self satisfaction i.e feeling good about self and that is why it is recommended for anxiety and other psychological problem . again i must repeat if you are normal just start by easy regular exercises and increase the challenge bit by bit it will take time but at last you will feel happy . good luck

Read the "dehydration" website. What you need is pure water at least 1 gallon daily. You will urinate it out. Exercise is good for anxiety. I used to have them all the time until I started weight lifting. Nothing heavy but heavy enough to give me a good workout. I workout 5 x week. You have to rest. I also take 2 tbls. of heinz apple cider vinegar in a glass of water for vinegar's 93 vitamins and minerals. I used to have to take high blood pressure pills, but the vinegar has lowered it to normal. Hair and nails grow. Water thins out the blood which is good for your heart. Do not let what doctors say scare you. They told me I would be dead in 5 years. That was back in 1999. I did my own research and found water and vinegar! That's what it means in the bible when it says, "the meek shall inherit the earth". Water and vinegar so simple yet so powerful. Like God.

Yes, exercise is great for both conditions. Now, before you start, you must realize that with all exercise you must start off slow and gradually increase your effort. No bulging eyes, gasping for breath, or headaches. Everything slowly and gradually. Keep track of how long, how many and gradually increase over time. You'll be shocked at how much you improve over time. I wish you the best and, by the way, I've been through the process and had anxiety too. I no longer take Xanax and my heart rate is fine. It took 6 or 7 months.
