Is it normal for the heart to beat irregularly immediately after a workout, as the heart is slowing down?
-
After jogging, my heart slows down the rate at which it beats, which is normal. But should the timing between beats be even, i.e. a smooth and unnoticeable transition from a fast beat rate to a slow beat rate? My heart transitions pretty awkwardly, like the following: bump, bump.....bump.....bump, bump.....bump....(Sorry, I didnt know how else to describe it).

Answer:
Your description is great. It is pretty normal to notice that. It could be due to a skipped heart beat, an extra beat (ectopic), or just a feeling as some of the beat are not so forceful so you cannot feel it. But of course, if you are worried, do a stress treadmill test when they will do real time EKG for you before, during, and after exercise to confirm if there is a problem or needed further investigation.
