Are allergy eye drops bad for you?

Allergy question - nasal sprays and eye drops?

• Hi I have some of the worst allergies imaginable this morning I woke up in literally pain cuz my eyes burn and itch and ive itched them raw, same with my nose that has constantly been stuffed for a good 3 weeks but still continues to itch and run horribly everyday, gross I know. I need relief but the problem is I am allergic to Benadryl,Claritan,Zyrtec,Allegra etc and cannot take otc or any oral drugs for my allergies people keep suggesting nasal spray and eye drops, I need to know if any of these products contain the same ingredients that are provided in actual allergy pills. The pressure in my head and ears is unbelievable right now. Im a senior and our class trip to six flags was today I couldnt even leave my house due to the pollen. I am in hell someone help me with this question?

  Benadryl, Claritin, Zyrtec, and Allergra do not all have the same ingredients. Benadryl is Diphenhydramine Claritin is Loratadine Zyrtec is Cetirizine Allegra is Fexofenadine Do you know what it is that you are allergic to in these drugs? Some nasal sprays and eyedrops have the same drugs as some of these medicines. Some do not. You really need to know specifically what drug(s) you are allergic to in order to answer this question. Afrin is a popular nasal spray - but be careful if you are allergic to sympathomimetics (e.g., pseudoephedrine). I would look at steroids - they helped me get my allergies under control, but need to be taken on a regular basis. Nasal Steroid sprays like Rhinocort, Nasonex and Flonase might be a good option, they are versions of the drug fluticasone. There are also steroidal eydrops you could try. Patanol and Optivar are good anti-histamine eye-drops. These worked well for me for a while. Believe it or not, I've used every product I've mentioned here.
