Coconut milk allergy?

What ingredients is in milk?

  • I have a milk allergy, which I get hives if I eat it. However, for some reason I would get little or no reaction to skim milk or butter. I get a severe allergic reaction to whey, not as bad as peanuts but almost 25-35% of what a peanut reaction would be to me. (I am also allergic to nuts except coconut, but that's a different topic) So can you tell me what is giving me the allergic reactions to milk? I need to know if I am specifically allergic to lactose or something like that.

Milk is made up of calcium, protein etc.. It doesn't contain ingredients. Some of the reactions are: -Hives -Flushed skin or rash -Tingling or itchy sensation in the mouth -Face, tongue, or lip swelling -Vomiting and/or diarrhea -Abdominal cramps -Coughing or wheezing -Dizziness and/or lightheadedness -Swelling of the throat and vocal cords -Difficulty breathing -Loss of consciousness (Rarley happens) My advice is to stay away from things that contain milk (eg. cakes, waffles , everything that has milk) Skim milk is whole milk without the fat. The fat is removed by letting the milk settle. Maybe you were just allergic to the fat of the milk? I am not so sure about that you are 100% allergic to skim milk. Hope I helped! (:

Get your doctor to test you. We don't have enough background info, nor are most of us real actual doctors. You might be allergic to preservatives. Was the milk that gave you a reaction the same brand as the one that didn't? I think that this is a question for your doctor.
