How to build muscle quickly?

How to build muscle mass on your upper body?

  • Hey guys. I've been trying to improve my health in the past year. At 16 i weighed about 205 pounds and 1 and 1/2 years later I weigh 169 pounds. I've lost a lot of weight and have a little bit more to go, but now I'm interested in building up my upper body, mostly my chest and abs Here's what I try to do every day: 25 push ups about 20 minutes of cardio on a bike lift 10 pound weights doing curls with each arm, i do about 50 of those for each arm (100 in total.) 20 sit ups so, how can I build up muscle mass? I have heard that you should do a hard workout once a week, 3 times a week, or every day of the week in order to build up muscle mass... but i'm not sure which of these three approaches works properly. So, my questions are, What workouts should I do to build up the muscles in my chest? What workouts should I do to build up the muscles in my abs? How often should I do them per week? How long will it take to see an improvement in the appearance of the muscles? And how do I keep these muscles from turning into flab or softening up on me after I get them? and one last note. I have seen people who work out their abs and they look a little funny. Some of the muscles are a little higher or lower than the other muscles, and it just doesn't really look good. I have seen this result happen lots of times with people and I want to know how to prevent this from happening to me when I work out. Thanks for reading.

  • Answer:

depends: do you have access to a gym? if yes then theres plenty of things you can do : bench press, dumbell press, incline press, decline press, flies, cable cross overs etc. and for abs you can do weighted ab exercises but if you dont have access to a gym it will be harder to get bigger unless you buy some weights, you can try doing wide push ups but eventually your body will get used to lifting your own body weight therefor you will tone instead of bulk. my advice: get a gym membership: there you can do everything. and as for crooked abs, its genetic, some people have straight abs, others are crooked, either way abs are abs
