What to eat to lose weight?

If i walk the treadmill and do other exercises and watch what i eat and drink will i lose weight better?

  • I want to get my treadmill out and walk on it for 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours til i can be able to jog or run and i am going to drink some green tea and watch what i eat and not eat after 8pm and i have slow metabolism.. i weigh 250 pds im 5'7 and im 20 yrs old.. i know im over weight but ever since my mom put me on the bc shot when i was 16 ive gained a lot of weight and cant lose it,, i got off it almost 1 1/2 yrs ago and i really want to lose weight so im just going to exercise eat right and drink right and see what happens and i need help on what to do.. i dont want rude comments just advice on how much you think i could lose before october 23rd thanks..

    Hi...okay, get out a pen and journal and start writing down how much exercise you do every day and what you eat. Actually planning a menu for the week will help you get the right foods into the house so they are there when your hungary and need to eat....plan to eat your first meal say at 7am and then your evening meal will end no later than 7pm at night - you also want to get in the habit of having a snack - mozarella low fat sticks are easy to carry with you and can be gobbled real quick - :0) ...keep a tootsie roll pop with you for when that feeling for something sweet comes along,,,,have all the vegatables you want, frozen or fresh, keep away from orange juice as it has a lot of sugar and may trigger you to want more sweet things..(have a whole orange instead)...another suggestion is to get a pedometer (walmart, CVS etc.) all have them - walk 10,000 steps a day and you can include your treadmill walk in this too - it is a challenge in the beginning but in the end you will find yourself trying to beat whatever you did the day or week before (log this too in the journal).....Also, if you can, a buddy system works great too.....you will have ups and downs on the scale, but with a good exercise and eating program you should loose no more than 2lbs. a week - in the beginning you will loose more than that but it will level off...at that point go back into the journal and see the changes you have made in your lifestyle from day one.....you can do it. Drink at least 100 oz. of water and more if you can....(1/2 your body weight in oz. = 175 oz. is a lot so aim only for the 100 for now). Green tea is good, adding lemon to the water too is another way to get the water into yourself...). be sure to get all the food groups..... okay, so go get the treadmill...what are you waiting for??? I'm pretty much in the same boat your in. Probably close to the same frame and size. Except I have a gym membership to a community center close by. I don't know everything but one thing I might caution you is to not deprive yourself of food. (Anything under 1200 or so calories a day.) It shuts down your matabolism so your body won't lose weight. I'm interested to see what people say to your question.

Well your plan sounds great!! Make sure you eat fruits and veg. and don't freak out after a week or 2 if you put on a couple of lbs instead of losing because remember muscle weighs more then fat!!

I don't know how much you'll lose before oct 23rd... everyone's body is different. I think that you have a great plan. Keep up with it, don't make excuses not to do it, and remember to drink lots of water! Suggestion (this works for me): I eat 5 SMALL meals a day... breakfast at 7am, snack at 9:30am, lunch at 12pm, snack at 2:30pm, dinner at 5pm. This helps keep my metabolism going.
