How to tone with dumbbells?

What are some easy at home ways to tone my triceps?

  • I am 16. The only equipment I have are 10 pound dumbbells. I want to tone because I am a girl and do not want to look like a man. Also, any good lower ab excersises I can do? And that one muscle that goes from the armpit to the breast...I don't know what it's called but it if you look at this pic http://www.blog-city.info/en/img4/4749_ashley-tisdale-400-021507.jpg she has it defined. Mine isn't really. I am not FAT but from the side my arm looks huge because it's not toned. And when I put my hand on my hip it looks gross. Thank you <3

    well first of all the 10 lb dumbbell it too much for you if you don't want to look like a man. you need less weight, no more that 5 lbs. I have two exercises that do biceps. with the 5 lbs.( maybe you could use a hammer or something of that weight.) lean over and put one hand on the seat of a chair. weight in the other hand bend your elbow and slowly bring it back behind you keeping your arm close to your side. start with 2 sets of 5 reps on each arm. 2 to 3 times a day. another is to take that weight and hold your arm straight up on the side of your head. moving only your elbow ( which should stay up by your head) lower weight down toward your back, and back up. 2 sets of 5 times each side. ( please don't hit yourself in the head with the hammer or weight) these target just that muscle. ( I'm a physical therapist,I do this for a living.)
