How come occasionally ill be sitting?

How come you eat a 2000 calorie meal in one sitting but yet you're still hungry later?

  • How come you can eat your daily caloric intake in one meal (i.e. a Carl's Jr Six Dollar Burger with Bacon, fries with ranch and a 32 oz coke) but still get hungry later? Once your body gets all the calories in one day, why is it still hungry later?

  • Answer:

Looking at your example - 32 oz of soda and ranch dressing will not fill you up. They are liquid... Yes they are high calories but they will not fill your stomach. Same with the burger and the bacon... all the calories are from fat. Once the fat dissolves in your stomach it doesn't convince your tummy that you have actual food in it. Imagine eating just a small bit of lean hamburger meat, 2 pieces of bread, and a tiny bit of vegetables. That is what you are really eating. The fries are all fat too - they are puffed up with air to make them seem bigger. If you were to remove the fat and look at the true food you are eating it would be a small serving of potato. So when a person eats fast food they are basically starving themselves. There is no 'real' food and no 'real' nutrition. Just a bunch of fat and filler to make it seem like you are eating and getting your moneys worth.

Your diet contains none of the satiating properties. You are eating non-nutritive, belly-bulging garbage instead of nutrient-rich food that contains fiber. Your body is still waiting to be fed! Calories do not satiate! Nutritious food does! Change your diet to organic whole foods and you will be hard pressed to eat 2000 calories in one sitting, AND, you will be full for hours!

Empty stomach. Our bodies are still not used to the idea of being able to slam down 2000 calories in one meal. So once that meal works its way further into your system your body doesn't realize how much it just ate, in caloric terms, and thinks it's time to put more food in. As such, you are hungry again.

the human body has lost its ability to stop eating when the body does not need more nutrients. this could be due to the highly processed foods and the body can no longer tell how calorific somethign is. we need to try harder and have some more self control....i say that but i CANNOT lose weight no matter how hard i try but i do avoid such fast food choices

Your body craves food - regularly - not "give me 2000 calories or i'll keep rumbling!" You are used to eating 3 meals a day so your body gets into a routine & prepares for this. It's up to you to make sure all 3 meals are balanced in calories & content!

well, if that's what your meal is, it's a very "empty" meal so to speak. Your body can use very little as far as nutrients and a good deal will turn to fat. My advice: don't eat fast food if you want to be healthy and/or lose weight.

That is the reason why we have to eat at least 3 x a day. It is better to eat small amounts of food 3 x a day than eat one whole meal in one bite. It is because are stomach feels kinda empty so we crave again for food.

if you eat small healthy portions(kinda like snacks) 6 times a day-instead of huge meals 3 times a day it will control your hunger and it will boost your metabolism.

Sue

after it has left your stomach which takes about 3 to 5 hours then it wants to eat again might try high fiber foods which make you less hunger and not as often
