How do I use a R4 Revolution card?

R4 Revolution Card freezes on "Loading" screen?

I just purchased a R4 Revolution card from Volume Rate in Hong kong. I tried loading the latest kernel (1.18) from the R4DS website and my DS Lite freezes on the loading screen. I tried going to this link http://www.r4ds.cn/download/r4ds.html which is listed on the Volumerate website but it is "Not Found". Looks like it's probably a fake card. Any suggestions/help is greatly appreciated.

Dear John, There's a chart here showing all the different popular types of R4 cards, it might help you find out if you have a different one then the original R4DS. http://www.dscardworld.com/blog/2010/03/12/ds-flash-card-family-tree/ If you do suspect you have a fake, see if you can return it. DSCardWorld sells genuine cards, and they're a good reliable vendor for ds cards. Best of luck!
