What is this card trick called?

  • ok you start by dealing the cards. After you deal the first card say tell me when to stop. When they stop you memorize the card but tell them they don'tt have to memorize the card you stopped at. I forgot what to do after that. But i remember that youseparatee the cards faced down into 3 piles. The 1st pile you put down you know one of the cards but idon'tt know how you know. So U tell the person to put one card on top of one of the other decks and another card on top of another pile. U tell them to memorize that card. But u know that card that they are memorizing but i dont know how iknoww. Them u tellthemm to shuffle the deck. You are not suppose to watch them shuffle. Wen they rdonee you take the deck and say you need to check if all the cards are there. You look for the card and put it up front of the deck and make sure theydon'tt see you. Then you take the 16 first cards including that specific card up front and it shape like this: H H H H but kindoverlappingg. Make 4 if those and remember where you put the card. Then tell them to pick 2 groups of cards. If any of those groups contain the card then you take away the opposite 2. Then tell them to pick one group. Same rules . When u get to the last groups tell them to pick two cars and take away if it does not contain the card. And so on and the last card should be there card But i forgot what to do in the begginning. help!help!

I love this trick. It's my favorite card trick. Ok here's what you do: 1. You deal out 21 cards. You can either deal and have them stop you on a card. Or you can hand them the 21 cards and have them pick one they like. 2. Have them memorize it without showing you. If other people are there, have them show the others. 3. Now take all the cards back. Start dealing them out in 3 rows of 7. Starting at the top left, then one in the middle, one on the right. Once you have three spots like this, you start layering them down word. 4. Have them point to the column their card is in. **Important** keep the pile their card is in on the top of the deck. Now re-deal the cards this same way two more times, always picking the row their card is in and keeping it on top. By the last time, you will have worked their card up to the top left position, and you will know that you have the card they picked on top of the deck. You should be able to go to the letting them shuffle now and making the four piles from here. I hope this makes sense. It's a great trick.
