How to open the new chess version?

How do I get the old version of chess out of my cache? And upload the new version so that i can play again?

  • When i go to chess on yahoo games it tells me that i need to restart my browser to get the new version. Ive done that and it still doesn't work. It says that manually cleaning my cache will work but i don't know how to do that. Help!!

    Recently Yahoo updated their chess software program and you now need the new version. The first thing you will have to do is remove the old software demo. Standard clearing the cache does not remove game demos (deleting browser history old files clearing cookies, etc) They have to be deleted by manually selecting the Yahoo demo program. There are 3 ways of doing this,not all PCs are the same,Try them in order until the game demo is removed. #1 Click start button, then search, click on files/folders, type in yahoo chess. When file comes up, right click on it and then click remove. Next time you visit Yahoo chess it will prompt you to download the new demo of Yahoo's newest version of chess. #2 Go to tools on your tool bar, then select Internet options, browser history, settings button, view objects. Select the game chess and then delete it. #3 Go to start,my PC, click on C-drive, open the windows folder, open the downloaded programs folder.your games are listed there. delete the chess file. #4 Internet explorer works best with yahoo games. If you are trying to use Foxfire make sure Sun java is checked as default java as it will not work with msn virtual machine java Go to tools, internet options,advance tab. Scroll down to Sun java check it and java scrolling and JIT.

Hello -- I am not a big fan of yahoo chess. I see so many problems with it (on this forum). There are other (better) places to play chess on the internet. Free Internet Chess Server is a server that is dedicated to chess. Not only can you play games there, but they also have lessons. It does take some special software (free) to use the site, and at first it might seem a bit cumbersome, but in the end it is ultimate place to play chess. http://www.freechess.org Best of luck on your journey, Bill

ok..... if your playing online chess then there is many ways. If you have Internet explorer then: 1) click on tools 2) delete browsing history 3) either delete cookies or delete all 4) you should probably delete the temporary files or you could go into your control panel and in the search box type in cookies and then follow the steps for deletion. either of these should work. They did for me good luck by the way wat is ur ID?
