Anyway around to winning contests from Magazine, book, etc. sites?

• I was thinking about it. But I have recently entered contests online. Magazine websites, book sites (book contests to win the books and other stuff), etc. So I was wondering: Is there any way around to winning? Is it only just based on luck or what exactly? I feel weird every time I enter them and I am like "Hmm maybe that's not what they look for to even if they say it's drawing or so." I don't know why but I feel that I am cheating. And then thinking of how many times other people would enter per day or so. So if anyone can make sense to what I am asking, should I feel the worry that I might not win because of how many times I enter? I am thinking that one day I can win it, I'll never know, but to try. But I still can't help but to wonder.
