Did a calve workout and i cant walk now?

Will this help me reach my goal? help me please (dancers)?

  • Hey guys Natalee here! So I am a dancer(: I have been dancing for a total of only two years of my life though but I used to do gymnastics so I have a lot of dance experience from that, anyways I really want to tryout for my dance studios competition team. My dance instrctor said I have a shot of making the team but I would have to work super hard, well I have missed no dance classes and tryouts are in 15 days! I need to still work outside of the studio. Will this workout improve anything in 15 days? Morning Stretch - I get out of bed and walk around let myself wake up then I do some lunges and stuff to get ready for my splits. I hold my split for one minute then put my nose to my knee for 45 seconds and then put my head back for 45 seconds. (repeat three times) Vertimax - There is this think that helps your legs be stronger and your jumps go higher... I do this for 40 minuts Tredmill - I run on the tredmil to build up my endurence for a total of 15 mins running and then 15 mins walking then 10 mins running then 10 mins walking then 5 mins running then 5 mins walking... then i walk the rest of the way Ankle Workout - I do some ankle stretches/workout to make my ankle stronger for fuetas and pirawettes (I cant spell) Afternoon Stretch - I do the same thing as morning stretch put add on another set and also lay on the floor and pull my leg back Skill Practice - I go and practice I do a total of 100 pirawettes then a total of 100 fuettes. I practice leaps and jumps and everything I learned in class Bar Practice - I do a bar warm up for 30 mins Stretchin some more - I do more stretching for this time only 10 or 15 mins Walk - I walk the dog for 20 mins Learn - I watch dancers to learn what they are doing well and how I can learn from them Evening Stretch - This is pretty basic stretching that lasts about 15 mins Also I am just starting this plan today... I am a girl who is 13 yrs old and wants to make the junior section on the dance team! Thanks soooo much

    Hi, you sound like you are very committed. That makes for a fantastic dancer!! I took a look at your scedual for yourself and i just had acouple questions. -is this a competitivr team or a recreational team -and is your life going to completely revolve around this plan?? The only reason i ask this is beause it is alot of work and planning i think you should relax some and do stretches jumps and turns but dont over do it. Practicing too much can be not such a good thing but i really do like the majority of your plan. :) GOOD LUCK! HAVE FUN! HOLD YOUR CENTRE! :)

Being that your goal is for a competition dance team and you have gymnastics which is way more important for competition dance than real dance technique, I think you have a great shot at this. Btw, Gymnastics is no kind of "dance" training. Lunges bulk your muscle not elongate them which is what is needed for dance. Running ruins your turnout. A Bar is where you have a drink. A Barre is where you practice dance. Other than the 30 minute "barre" warm up and turns, you have no dance technique at all in your workout. Your workout seems more for gymnastics than dance. It is not about the number of pirouettes or fouette turns you can do, it is how well you execute them. Competition dance is recreational dance. If you are not getting paid to dance then it is recreational. If it will not prepare you for a career as a dancer, it is recreational training. Therefore competition dance is recreational dance.

The running part seems too intese for me, though it's good that u plan to stretch 3 times a day. Everything seems good, but don't wear yourself out with the running, know your limitations. Good luck ;)
