Is my GPA public or private information?

Can someone give me information about GPA and how to get a high GPA?

  • Hey! I'm a freshman in high school and i just wanted to know what an average GPA would be. What is the highest GPA you can get? Also, is it true that taking honors courses will help you get a higher GPA? I don't know anything, so please help me out! Thanks in advance. =)

    A GPA is an average of your grades for a specific amount of time. It uses a 4 point system to give an average of your grades. A = 4 B=3 C=2 D =1. So if you got straight A you would have a 4.0. To calculate your GPA, use the numbers before as your letter grades and add them all up and divide by the number of grades. if you got 2 A and 1 B you would have 3.6 GPA. Honor's courses sometimes will help you get a higher GPA because sometimes an A in an Honor's class will be weighted higher (ie 4.5)

it really depends what school you go to. i go to a private school and the average is a 3.2, which honestly is pretty low compared to my friends and I. at the public school in my town, the average is a 2.4. and yep, an honors class (perfect 100) is worth 4.50 and an AP class is worth a 5.00 (also perfect 100)
