Is it a good idea to double major in English and Global Studies?

I am interested in working in the field of Advertising. I enjoy writing and learning about other cultures. If possible, I also want to study abroad for a few months. Double majoring in English and Global Studies would allow me to do all of those things, but I wonder if I should major in English and something that is more practical instead. I was thinking of Business Economics or Accounting, since I've heard that it is easy to get a job with those degrees. I'm scared that my degrees in English and Global Studies will be useless in real life. I am currently a California Community College student with a 4.0 that is going to drop after this semester. I am aiming to transfer to UCLA or UCI. One more question. Do you think that majoring in Global Studies would be beneficial if I worked in Advertising?

Get a degree in marketing with a minor in English and Global Studies. You will have a background that will allow you to be very flexible.
