How safe is Park Slope, Brooklyn?

Dining in Park Slope Brooklyn sucks. Any recommendations?

  • I work in Park Slope around 7th street and 7th avenue. There's nothing to eat here. All the food is mediocre, even though I'm supposedly in the vicinity of the world's culinary capital. I'm tired of experimenting with new sucky places. Any recommendations for something guaranteed to be good?

  • Answer:

If it's still there, Coco Roco (Peruvian) on 5th Ave was pretty good, but it's been years since I lived in that area. Head NW to Boerum Hill (Smith St) and Carroll Gardens (Court St). The food options are much better down there. If you like Jamaican food, there is (maybe was) a great little hole-in-the-wall (more carry-out) called "Islands" on Washington Ave, just N of Eastern Pkwy, across from the Brooklyn Museum. Sorry if you're stuck in Park Slope and don't have time to get to these places during lunch, but definitely give them a try after work.

Why not carry lunch to work? If that' complicated, have lunch delivered to you. Use http://www.menupages.com to see what is to your liking near to you.
