Why wont my sky plus remote work?

Heres a few things to try. 1 make sure nothing is obstructing the sky box. ie you have a clear line of sight between the remote and the sky box 2. If the red light on the remote is lighting up , it wont be the batteries. 3. As one of the previous answers stated reboot sky by:- disconnecting the power take the sky card out. wait 30 secs and reconnect the power. (Dont replace the card yet.) Switch your sky on from standby ie Red light on front to Green . The sky box will then say searching for listings. Then it will say insert viewing card. Put card back in. That should work. 3. If this fails try a total reboot. knock off power bring power back to box whilst holding back up button on front of sky box for 10 secs. It will then reboot the sky box for you . This will take about 15mins. NB this will wipe your stored programmes so think carefully b4 doing the last one. All this fails get onto sky as your box or remote may be faulty. good luck!

i had this problem as my volume stopped working,ring sky and they will give you a code to reprogramme your remote so it reconiges your box and instructions on how to do so.
