  • What is the cause of the brakes making a grinding noise? Every time I brake the front passenger side brake makes this grinding noise that is annoying.

  • Answer:

Time for new pads! Get it done soon before the rivets in the brake pads badly score the brake discs. If the discs are scored too deeply, they can't be resurfaced and you'll need new discs too - pricey.

I bet the pads are worn down to the backing material! And discs don't last forever either... Get this looked at soon as possible.

Please punctuate properly, folks

Brake pads are worn. New ones needed immediately (both sides for safety) or you will ruin the disc and that gets expensive

my car was doing that a few weeks ago took it to a garage and the brake pads had completely worn out so had to have new ones, so maybe its that,

you have NO BRAKES left...only the metal backing scraping against the break disc/rotor...depending on how long its been grinding you may need new discs as well.

Uneven or low brake pads. I suggest you take it to a garage and get them changed before either the brakes fail totally or it causes more expensive problems.
