• Alright I have an issue. My girlfriend that lives with me got a vehicle from her boss as a gift. So I took the vehicle to our place since the place, the boss was keeping it couldn't be kept there any more. The boss gave my girlfriend the title but miss signed it which we didn't even notice untill we went to the court house. We give her the title back to resign and now she is giving us excuses and things and seems like she isn't planning on giving the vehicle now. Within that time I fixed up the vehicle some and not sure if we have reciepts for the parts i bought which came to about $130. My girlfriend has insurence on the vehicle and it has been sitting on our property for about little over 6 months. I was just wondering if there was any way we could try to claim this vehicle since we've had it for so long now. I'm not to worried about the $130. I would just like the vehicle. The boss has been miss treating my girlfriend at work and I want to take the vehicle if i can to get her back.

  Make up a bill for storage, parts and labor. Submit it to her boss via registered mail (requiring a signature). Use the local shop rates for labor. State in an accompanying letter that instead of payment, the title for the vehicle would be acceptable. Contact a lawyer of some how find out about "Mechanics lien" in your state, and or limits for small claims courts. Be careful as any action you take will make your GF's job harder. But in the mean time decide if what is going on in her job is harassment or what. Other actions may be needed depending on the answers to these questions.
