What is a Celtic Maze?

How does the language in The Maze Runner work, what does it stand for?

  • I'm a big fan of The Maze Runner series but I still cant work out what all the slang worlds mean. If you have read the books, what do you think 'Shank', 'Shuck', 'Shuck-Face' and 'Slinthead' mean? Everyone who has read Maze Runner knows what 'Klunk' means (Poo) This is what I think it means Shank - The gladers use this to talk about people Shuck - The gladers use this when talking about a thing Shuck-Face - This is a playful insult Slinthead - an offensive insult But I'm still confused as the Gladers also use 'Shuck' when talking, like before a world, example (Newt) "I've been shucked and gone to heaven" but Minho also used 'Shuck' to talk about people, shouldn't it be 'shank'?

  • Answer:

Hi, I love The Maze Runner too. You're right about number one and the last two. Shuck can be used as you said but I think it can also be used for another word that rhymes with it (beginning with f). Hope I helped x
