A normal NFL regular season starts in either late August or early September, and ends in late December or early January. Every NFL team plays 16 regular season games. The NFL playoffs take place during the month of January, and concludes with the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl used to take place during the month of January, but in recent years, has been played on the first Sunday in early February.
