Why do American Football players need all the padding?

  • It all seems over the top for what they are doing. The Rugby teams all over the world are 10 times harder than these big pansies and have no padding in a sport 10 times harder than American football. Would people still come and watch it if it were full of tiny guys without great big shoulder pads?
